"I wish we could put more images ..." Johnson-Roehr, Catherine Ann

I wish we could put more images of artists’ work on our web site, but at this time we do not have a place to put them. The NeoPopRealism ink drawings (200) and book that Nadia Russ donated to our collection are listed in our library catalog, but it does not allow us to include images.

June 3, NeoPopRealism Journal contacted by email "Design Originals" and Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas saying that it is not appropriate to promote themselves (Richards & Thomas) as “inventors” of art form, created by Nadia Russ in 1989, of course in more complicated version. June 3, NeoPopRealism Journal got reply from "Zentangle": "We are unsure of what similarities you see between Nadia Russ' work and art created according to Zentangle's teaching method. We're also unsure what you mean by "meditation art". Roberts and Thomas are not artists, but they teach to draw. June 13, NeoPopRealism Journal contacted Richards and Thomas by email, saying all answers they can find in Nadia Russ’ website. NeoPopRealism Journal also said they have a few questions related to "Zentangle" and would like to know if Roberts and Thomas will answer them to help to Journalists’ investigation. Roberts and Thomas didn’t reply.

She was trying to connect to the Universe and let the Universe use her as a Conductor when she created her drawings. She didn’t want to follow any other artists’ achievements, she decided to create absolutely new art form, like Picasso (Cubism), Dali (Surrealism), Andy Warhol (Pop Art) and a few other worldwide known artists had done. Nadia Russ took her ink pen and began to draw a flowing line that turned into shapes, figures, often faces. Then, some sections (or all), that appeared, she filled with the repetitive patterns.
